Terry Dexter first arrived on the music scene with her Warner Bros. Records debut, the self-titled release “Terry Dexter” which spawned two singles “Better Than Me” and “Strayed Away”, both of which charted high in sales and airplay on the BILLBOARD charts. Via Penny's Gang/Universal Records she later released her second critically acclaimed “Listen” project and aligning singles “Beautiful One” and “I'm Free” which also charted on BILLBOARD.

Terry is also known as a “singers singer,” and artists like mentor Patti LaBelle (Terry co- wrote Patti's single “Anything” featuring Kanye West and Mary Mary ), Jaheim, Eric Benet (that's her soaring voice you hear on Benet's remix of the number one hit, “Spend My Life With You”), Jazz artists Paul Taylor and Eric Darius, the group Black Eye Peas and a solo Will.i.am have all called upon her for featured duet appearances on their singles and albums. Her vocals were also featured on Eminem's #1certified diamond single, “Don't Be Afraid”. She also co-wrote and/or has been featured on releases with other music gems such as George Duke, Dexter Wansel, Wynonna Judd, Michael McDonald and more.
Born and raised in Detroit around the heavy influence of Motown soul, rock, hip hop and gospel, Terry was also exposed and inspired by another Detroit born sound: Electronica. She first achieved international success with the dance remix (EP), of her Warner Bros. Records self titled first albums single “Better Than Me” which became a Top 5 hit on the BILLBOARD dance chart and then a few years later with the single “If You Wanna” with Chicago soul/electronic music legend Roy Davis Jr. which also Billboard charted. She's released numerous national/international singles again with Roy Davis Jr. as well as Steve Hurley, Hex Hector, Agent X, Kenny Carpenter, Mark Corvino, Kenny Dope, Juan Hoerni, Jovonne and most recently, the Traxsource #1 soulful house and Top 5 Top 100 tracks anthem 'No Maybe' with Frankie Feliciano, remix by Wez Whynt.
